This to is advise you of Great South's Event Supplier Database project, which will become available on Southlandnz.com upon completion.

What is it?
The Event Supplier Database will be a collection of useful providers contact information, that event organisers can use to help plan and organise their event. This will be available on their website and can be continuously updated, as required. Information included might be:
- Entertainment providers, like musicians, acts and speakers
- Food & Catering providers; think food trucks, stalls and catering companies
- Services: anything from photographers to event insurance providers
Why are we doing it?
The aim of this database is to connect local event organisers to local suppliers, though it can and will include some out of region providers too.
What will it look like?
A good example of what to expect, would be to look at the accommodation and food providers currently listed on SouthlandNZ.
The suppliers page will include all of the contact information, as well as tags. These tags will help identify the different categories one listing may fall under – for example, I selected this listing as it is a “Food Truck”, however they may also rent out bouncy castles, which would fall under “Entertainment”. This way, we can make sure the appropriate providers are as visible as possible in all of the applicable categories they could fall under.

This will be a really valuable asset for the Southland events community and with your help we can launch an incredible resource.
